What is an Auth Code (EPP Code)?
An Auth Code (short for Authorization Code), also referred to as an EPP Code, Auth-Info Code, or Domain Transfer Secret, is a unique security password assigned to your domain name by the domain registry.
Why is an Auth Code Required?
The Auth Code acts as a security passcode to prevent unauthorized third parties from stealing or transferring your domain name away from your account without your permission.
You will need an Auth Code whenever you perform the following actions:
- Transferring your domain from another registrar to Nupat Cloud.
- Transferring your domain from Nupat Cloud to another domain provider.
What Does an Auth Code Look Like?
Auth codes are alphanumeric strings, often containing uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. For example:
Nupat#9821$Trx!a or a7K9#mP2!q9L
How to Find Your Auth Code on Nupat Cloud
If you want to transfer your domain out of Nupat Cloud:
- Go to your Nupat Cloud Dashboard.
- Click Domains and choose your target domain.
- In the sidebar menu, click Management Actions > Get EPP Code.
- Your unique Authorization Code will be displayed on screen and sent to your registered account email.
:::caution Keep Your Auth Code Private Never share your EPP / Auth code on public forums, social media, or with unverified third parties. Anyone with access to your Auth Code and an unlocked domain can request a domain transfer. :::
