Transferring your domain to Nupat Cloud consolidates your web hosting, DNS management, and domain renewals under a single, fast, and local management portal.

Pre-Transfer Checklist​

Before initiating a domain transfer, ensure the following prerequisites are met:

  • Domain Age: The domain must be at least 60 days old (ICANN rule for TLDs like .com).
  • Unlocked Status: The domain must be unlocked (Registrar Lock turned OFF) at your current domain registrar.
  • Auth / EPP Code: You must obtain the Authorization Code (EPP Code) from your current provider.
  • Email Access: Ensure you have access to the domain owner's administrative email listed on the WHOIS record.
  • Privacy Protection: Disable WHOIS Privacy / ID Protection temporarily so the registry can verify ownership.

Step-by-Step Transfer Process​

1. Request Auth Code from Current Registrar​

Log into your existing domain registrar (e.g. Whogohost, Namecheap, GoDaddy) and locate the Domain Lock / Transfer section. Unlock the domain and copy the Authorization Code.

2. Submit Transfer Request on Nupat Cloud​

  1. Open the Nupat Cloud Domain Transfer Portal.
  2. Type in your domain name (e.g., mybusiness.com).
  3. Paste your Auth / EPP Code into the designated field.
  4. Click Transfer Domain.

3. Complete Checkout​

Domain transfers for most TLDs (like .com) include a 1-year domain extension upon transfer completion. Pay the transfer fee using Paystack, Card, or Bank Transfer.

4. Approve Transfer Confirmation​

  • For .com / gTLDs: You will receive an approval email from the central registry. Click the link to authorize the transfer.
  • For .ng / .com.ng: Transfers take between 1 to 24 hours once authorized by the NiRA system.
